HCC to host Career Expo on April 17
The Washington County Career Expo at Hagerstown Community College will be held on Wednesday, April 17, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., in the Athletic, Recreation, and Community Center (ARCC) on the HCC campus. The event is free and open to everyone, including employers and job seekers.
The event will allow participants to discover job opportunities and pathways to employment in Washington County, explore community employment resources and support services, meet many of Washington County's leading companies and organizations, and participate in career-readiness workshops and networking.
On the day of the event, round-trip shuttle service will be available between the Washington County Transit Authority in downtown Hagerstown to the ARCC at HCC. The shuttle will leave at 10:50 a.m., 11:50 a.m. and 12:50 p.m. The shuttle will return approximately by 1:15 p.m. and 3:15 p.m. The shuttle schedule is available at www.hagerstowncc.edu/careerexpo.
The first-ever Washington County Career Expo was held on November 15, 2023. It drew approximately 800 participants, with nearly 500 event attendees and 140 participating organizations that included over 300 representatives. Many companies and attendees reported success in numbers of applications received, interviews conducted, and new job hires.
The Washington County Career Expo is being hosted by Hagerstown Community College in partnership with Washington County Business and Economic Development; and, is funded by an American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) grant.
