Spring 2025 Transfer Fair
The Spring 2025 Transfer Fair will be held on Monday, February 17th from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the AC&T Student Center.
Getting Started
Transferring to a college or university can be a challenging task which requires advanced planning and preparation. Information found on this page will help guide your transfer process. In addition, academic advisors are available to assist you with the transfer planning process both to and from HCC.
Transferring to HCC
HCC welcomes applications from transfer students.
To ensure the successful transfer of previous college credits, students seeking a degree at HCC must:
- Apply for admission to HCC
- Submit official transcripts from all colleges attended and any applicable military transcripts to the Records Office.
- Submit a Transfer Evaluation Request Form. A review of the transcripts will not be completed until all documents have been received and the Transfer Evaluation Request Form has been submitted.
Students who have earned college credits outside of the US will require a course-by-course evaluation in English translation via WES. Students who already have an Official evaluation completed through an agency other than WES should contact the Registrar at 240-500-2341 for further questions. Hagerstown Community College may consider other evaluations if approved by NACES.
If the student has taken CLEP, DSST, AP or similar exams, official score reports must be submitted, as well. It is important that students have a completed credit evaluation before scheduling courses at HCC. Credits taken at regionally accredited institutions will be applied the program of study chosen by the student.
HCC adheres to the general education and transfer policies of the Maryland Higher Education Commission. (See the HCC Catalog for the complete policy.). Additional criteria for transferring into health sciences programs exist. Contact the Academic Advising Office for more information.
HCC accepts traditional transfer credit as well as non-traditional credit like Advanced Placement or CLEP. Complete information about transferring into HCC can be found on the Transfer Students page.
