The college will not collect personal information about visitors unless the person affirmatively chooses to make such information available. The college web server automatically recognizes only the Internet domain and IP address from which a visitor accesses the website. This information will not result in the identification of personal email addresses or other personal information. However, information regarding the volume and timing of access to the website is collected. This information is collected to improve the content of the college website and is not shared with other organizations.
Only aggregate information is collected and visitors’ personal information is not identified. If a visitor chooses to share personal information with the college—by sending a message, or filling out an electronic form with personal information—the college will use the information only for the purposes intended. Information will not be disclosed to other third parties or government agencies, unless required to do so by local, state or federal laws.
Text Message Communications
The College may use text messaging to communicate with students regarding admissions, enrollment, financial aid, class updates, deadlines, campus alerts, and other student related information. By providing your mobile phone number and choosing to receive text messages from HCC, you consent to receive automated or non automated text messages at the number you provide. Your consent to receive text messages is not required to apply, enroll, or receive services.
Message frequency may vary. Message and data rates may apply.
How to Opt Out
You may opt out of receiving text messages at any time by replying STOP to any message the College sends. After you reply STOP, the College will send a confirmation message and then you will no longer receive text messages unless you opt in again. You can also text HELP for help.
Security and Privacy Notice
Mobile phone numbers and SMS opt-in consent are collected solely for the purpose of delivering the text messages described at the time of opt-in and for legitimate educational and operational purposes associated with the College. SMS opt-in data and consent will not be sold, rented, shared, transferred, or disclosed to any third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
We do not share text messaging originator opt-in data or consent with any third parties, except with trusted service providers that assist us in delivering SMS communications (such as messaging platform providers), and only for the purpose of facilitating message delivery and related support services.
Eligibility
Our text messaging services are intended for students, applicants, and individuals at least 18 years of age, or younger students whose parent/guardian has provided the phone number for school-related communications.
Transactional Communications
Certain administrative or safety related messages—such as emergency alerts, account notices, or time sensitive notifications—may be sent even if you opt out of general or promotional text messages, as permitted by law and institutional policy.
