HCC Account Password Reset for Employees & Students

Your HCC account and password are used for D2L, Self Service, HCC Email, and to sign in to HCC campus computers.

Password Requirements

Your new password should be a minimum of 8 characters in length, it is required to contain mixed case letters, at least 1 number, and at least 1 special character.

Password Length At least 8 characters  
Mixed Case At least 1 Upper and lower case A-Z and a-z
Numbers At least 1 0-9
Special Characters At least 1 ~!@#$%^&*_-+='|(){}[]:;"'<>,.?/

First Time Users

Note: If you are having trouble getting into your account using the link above, please call or text the help desk at (240-329-4489). Please be ready with your student ID number; you will also be asked questions to confirm your identity.

Password Reset

for current or returning users

  • Open a web browser and go to https://passwordreset.microsoftonline.com/
  • Type your HCC email address in User ID, and fill out the security captcha, and click Next
  • Select the text or call phone option and fill out your phone number, click Next
  • Enter your verification code, click Next
  • Enter a new password, confirm, click Finish
