Health Sciences Division

The Health Sciences Division at Hagerstown Community College prepares students to work in a variety of healthcare settings, including physician or dental offices, hospitals, rehabilitation facilities, insurance companies, research and medical laboratories. Students are introduced to a variety of program offerings through state-of-the-art laboratories and skill-appropriate clinical sites and study under trained faculty members who have both the knowledge and experience to train tomorrow’s workforce today.

Students who complete the required discipline, general education and highly recommended courses will be prepared to pursue a career in one of the sub-disciplines, or to transfer to a 4-year.

Exercise Science & Health


The program provides students the opportunity to study both the bio-mechanical and physiological aspects of human movement and healthy lifestyles, as well as factors in the community.

Health Information Management


The HIM program will prepare healthcare professionals to manage electronic health records in variety of settings such as doctor’s offices, hospitals, insurance companies, and more.

Medical Lab Techs work in laboratories to conduct tests on blood and other specimens to determine clinical test results that aid in patient diagnoses.
