HCC to offer construction trades boot camp
(July 13, 2020) – Hagerstown Community College is offering a Construction Trades Core Boot Camp, from July 27 to August 25, held on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays, in the Energy and Trades Training Center on the HCC campus.
The pre-apprenticeship boot covers the core curriculum defined by the National Center for Construction Education and Research. The program prepares students to enter Registered Apprenticeship in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry offered through the Barr Institute at the Cumberland Valley Associated Builders and Contractors chapter in Hagerstown.
The program is offered through a grant from the Maryland Department of Labor, Licensing. The grant, awarded under the state’s Apprenticeship Innovation Fund, is supporting the growth of construction trades apprenticeship in Washington County through pre-apprenticeship training.
