HCC to host Earth Day speaker
In recognition of Earth Day, Hagerstown Community College will host a presentation, entitled “Extinct, Endangered, Restored:
Saving American Wildlife 1900-2022,” by Mark Madison, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service historian. The event will be held on Friday, April 22, at 1:30 p.m., in HCC’s Student Center.
Dr. Madison will explore the long battle to protect endangered wildlife. He will chronicle a conservation journey from the extinction of the passenger pigeon to the recovery of the gray wolf, and possible recovery of lost species through new technologies.
This event is free and open to the community. It is sponsored by HCC’s Environmental Studies Program. To learn more about the event and other activities, visit www.hagerstowncc.edu/earthday.
