HCC Athletic Boosters to host Homecoming Weekend in October
The Athletic Boosters at Hagerstown Community College will host the first-ever Homecoming Weekend on Saturday, October 1, on the campus of HCC. Activities include a 5K run/walk and the Athletic Hall of Fame induction.
The Hawktoberfest 5K run/walk will be held at 9 a.m. on October 1. The race is open to everyone. The cost to participate is $25 per person and proceeds will benefit HCC student athletes. HCC President Jim Klauber is doing a Presidential Challenge for the 5K and will donate $5 to the HCC Foundation towards scholarships, for all staff who participate, and $25 for staff who beat his time. The 2022 Athletic Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony and Reception will be held on October 1 from 5 to 7 p.m. in HCC’s Athletic, Recreation and Community Center. Inductees include John Howard Barrett, III, baseball; Mary Beth Kennell, softball; Lindsey Plotner, volleyball and basketball; Arnold Kelly, track, cross country, and basketball; Ryan Crabtree, golf; and Sharon Webb Allen, track and cross country.
