HCC is a Smart Start

HCC is a Smart Start

Community colleges serve approximately half of the undergraduate students in the United States.

By starting a college education at HCC, students benefit in many ways:

  • They save thousands of dollars on the first two years of college.
  • They get a quality education from highly qualified instructors.
  • They are well prepared to transfer to four-year colleges and universities and statistically do as well or better than their counterparts during their junior and senior years of college.
  • They are well prepared to enter the workforce for jobs that are in demand.
  • They can choose from more than 100 programs of study.
  • They are served by state-of-the-art facilities, including the STEM Building, Kepler Performing and Visual Arts Education Center, Career Programs Building with its extensive nursing and health sciences areas, and the newly renovated and expanded Student Center.

HCC provides a “smart start” for:

  • Motivated high school students who want to get an early start on college, through the Early College Access Program and the Early College Degree Program.
  • Students who want to earn a bachelor’s degree and save money on the first two years of college.
  • Students who are trying to balance college with work and family obligations.
  • Students who want to change careers and need a viable option to help them get there.
  • Students (and their parents) who want a quality college education without significant debt.
