HCC’s registered nursing program ranked fourth in Northeast
(February 3, 2020) – The Registered Nursing Program at Hagerstown Community College has been ranked number four of 536 associate degree nursing programs in the Northeast, by NursingProcess.org.
Anne Arundel Community College (Md.), Northampton Community College (Pa.), and Manchester Community College (N.H.) were ranked as the top three nursing colleges, and Community College of Beaver County (Pa.) was ranked number five.
“I am extremely proud of our nursing program,” said Karen Hammond, director of the nursing division. “The program has been very successful as shown by consistently high pass rates on the NCLEX-RN exam and the success of our graduates as they enter the work force. This award validates the excellent nursing program that we offer here at HCC.”
More than 2,726 nursing schools across the country were ranked in five regions across the country. The ranking was based on four factors - academic quality, NCLEX-RN pass rates, the nursing school’s reputation, and affordability. HCC offers an associate degree program in nursing, a practical nursing program, a certified nursing assistant/geriatric nursing assistant program, and several transition programs such as LPN to RN, paramedic to RN, and an associate to bachelor’s nursing program.
