HCC receives donation from the Warren A. and Joyce L. Resley Charitable Trust
(June 18, 2019) – The Hagerstown Community College Foundation recently received a donation from the Warren A. and Joyce L. Resley Charitable Trust.
A portion of the donation has been designated to name the Light Manufacturing Lab in HCC’s Center for Business and Entrepreneurial Studies, which is scheduled to open in 2020. The remaining amount will be used to establish the Warren and Joyce Resley Memorial Scholarship, to provide tuition assistance to HCC students in the certified nursing assistant/geriatric nursing assistant program.
“Our parents valued hard work and education, and it’s meaningful to us that their success will provide opportunities for HCC students to make their own way up the ladder of success,” said Alan Resley.
“We’re also happy that this scholarship will allow more people who require in-home care to get the assistance that they need,”said Joy (Resley) Akers.
The Warren and Joyce Resley Memorial Scholarship is an endowed scholarship held in trust by the HCC Foundation, Inc. The interest from the gift is awarded annually to eligible HCC students in the certified nursing assistant/geriatric nursing assistant program, who are Washington County residents, have a 2.0 GPA, and have financial need.
