HCC Middle College accepting applications for fall
(February 3, 2021) –The STEMM Technical Middle College (STMC) at Hagerstown Community College is now accepting applications for the fall 2021 class, with a priority deadline of March 1. Interested students and parents are encouraged to attend one of the virtual information sessions on Wednesdays, Feb. 10 and Feb. 24, at 4 p.m., via Zoom.
HCC, working in partnership with Washington County Public Schools, developed the middle college to allow college-ready high school students the opportunity to earn up to 30 college credits and credentials such as certificates and associate degrees, while completing their high school diplomas. Juniors and seniors in the middle college attend school on the HCC campus.
To apply to the STMC, applicants must be a high school student entering grade 11 or 12, have an interest in and an aptitude for STEMM (science, technology, engineering, math, medical), have a high school cumulative GPA of 3.75 or higher, have completed 14 or more credits required for earning a high school diploma, complete the full application packet, and be college-ready in English and mathematics.
