HCC to host Hagerstown Startup Week
The Incubators + Labs at Hagerstown Community College will host the second annual Hagerstown Startup Week, from May 20 to 22. This free, three-day conference is designed to inspire entrepreneurship and help business leaders build momentum and gain resources. It will offer an opportunity for entrepreneurs to connect and network with both resource providers and fellow founders.
“Last year’s first Startup Week was a huge success and we’re excited to offer it again this year,” said HCC President Jim Klauber. “We encourage inspired members of our community to take advantage of everything that will be offered during this event.”
The activities will kick off with the opening ceremony on Monday, May 20, at 11 a.m., in HCC’s Athletic, Recreation and Community Center, with a Business Luncheon and Spark! Award ceremony to highlight eight entrepreneurs’ courageous efforts to launch a business in Washington County. Hagerstown Startup Week will feature panel discussions, educational workshops, networking events, and a Startup Showcase, highlighting 20 companies based in Washington County.
Hagerstown Startup Week is a completely free event for participants, with support from HCC, Washington County Chamber of Commerce, Maryland Tech Council, TEDCO, Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development, AmeriServ Bank, Fiserv, Washington County Industrial Foundation, Washington County Business and Economic Development, Maryland SBDC, The Alice Virginia and David W. Fletcher Foundation, F&M Trust, City of Hagerstown, Greater Hagerstown Committee, HighRock, Warehouse Cinemas, Mountain Maryland Tech Network, Middletown Valley Bank, and Antietam Broadband.
