HCC honors students’ academic achievements
(May 17, 2021) – Hagerstown Community College would like to recognize students from the 2020-2021 academic year who have earned competitive and special program awards.

Recipients of the Technology and Computer Studies Leadership and Services Awards were Lucas A. Mowen, of Hagerstown, for advanced manufacturing systems; Lisa M. Ulrich, of Smithsburg, for computer support specialist; Manav Bhatt, of Hagerstown, for cybersecurity; Regina Weagle, of Frederick, for digital forensics; Hayden A. Norris, of Hancock, for electrical engineering technology; Chloe M. Weigel, of Hagerstown, for graphic design technology; John Q. Simms, of Hagerstown, for interactive design and game development; Maliek D. Fuller-Williamson, and Michelle M. Rosner, both of Hagerstown, for network administration; Hannah F. Stancliff, of Mercersburg, Pa., for web and multimedia technology.
Recipients of the Career Programs Awards of Excellence were Sherri L. Griffith, of Greencastle, Pa., for accounting and business; Taylor N. Rudisill, of Hagerstown, for administration of justice; Kelly Powell, of Fairfield, Pa., for advanced manufacturing systems; Rowan P. Deatrich, of Greencastle, Pa., for dental hygiene; Robin G. Dukes, of New Market, for early childhood and primary grades education; Caleb T. Singer, of Smithsburg, for graphic design technology; Madelyn G. Clever, of Thurmont, for human services technician; Ryan J. Freels, of Hagerstown, for interactive design and game development; Meredith Hottle, of Chambersburg, Pa., for management; Beth K. Muturi, of Hagerstown, for nursing; and Morgan D. Dyer, of Sharpsburg, for radiography.
Recipients of the Commendation for Academic Excellence in Mathematics and Science were Melissa K. Beaumonte, of Hagerstown, for biotechnology; Casey M. Douglas, of Hancock, for chemistry; Jacob S. Frazee, of Hagerstown, for engineering; Hannah L. Warrenfeltz, of New Market, for environmental studies; Robert G. Cramer, of Chambersburg, Pa., for mathematics; and Zann M. Butt, of Hagerstown, for pre-pharmacy. The recipient of the Commendation for Outstanding Computer Science Graduate was Abdul R. Azizi, of Knoxville.
Recipients of the TRiO: Student Support Services Awards of Excellence were Beth N. Reed, of Shippensburg, Pa., for academic achievement; Jadie L. Buhrman, of Myersville; and Abbie N. Rice, of Funkstown, for aspiring scholar; and Martha A. Bray, of Hedgesville, W.Va.; George A. Craig, of Hagerstown; Talita L. Helms-Rodriguez, of Petersburg, Va.; and Larry J. Keyser, of Hagerstown, all for perseverance.
Recognized for induction into the Maryland Zeta Chapter of Lambda Nu for Radiological Sciences included Janet L. Stamper, of Middletown. Members of this honor society must have a minimum 3.0 GPA after one full-time semester of a professional program and additional recognition such as a professional paper.
