HCC Foundation receives anonymous donation to assist women of color

(March 25, 2021) – The Hagerstown Community College Foundation recently received a $27,000 anonymous donation to establish the Equilibrium Scholarship for Minority Women.

The endowed scholarship will be available each year to assist female students of color who are residents of Washington County, enrolled full-time, have a 2.5 GPA or greater, and have a demonstrated financial need.

“Education is one way that people can advance and live their life to their full potential,” said the anonymous donor. “This scholarship is our way of trying to help level the field, creating equilibrium, so that everyone has the same opportunities, particularly educational opportunities.”
