HCC and SU sign transfer agreement for art students

Hagerstown Community College and Shepherd University have signed a new agreement that will allow HCC students who complete an associate degree in visual arts to seamlessly transfer to Shepherd University to complete a bachelor’s degree in art education with just 60 additional credits.

“This idea took a few years to come together, but now we have a solid pathway for our students to pursue careers in art education,” said Margaret Yaukey, HCC visual arts coordinator. “Our region needs these artists/educators.”

Shepherd University President Mary J.C. Hendrix said, “We are thrilled to partner with Hagerstown Community College to provide a high-quality educational experience for these students. We look forward to welcoming them to the Shepherd family.”
