Brethren Mutual Insurance Company Establishes Endowment Scholarship with Hagerstown Community College Foundation

Brethren Mutual Insurance Company recently donated $25,000 to the Hagerstown Community College (HCC) Foundation to establish the Brethren Mutual Endowment Scholarship held in trust by the HCC Foundation, Inc. Interest from the gift is awarded annually to an HCC full-time student with at least a 3.0 GPA and enrolled in a business or marketing major.

The student does not need to meet any residency or financial need requirements to apply for the scholarship. Additionally, Brethren Mutual employees (and their children) are eligible to receive the scholarship. Scholarship recipients are selected by the Foundation Scholarship Committee, and funding can be continued annually and transferred to a four-year school.

The first scholarship will be awarded for the Fall 2024 semester. The amount of the scholarship will fluctuate based on investment earnings. Interested students should apply for the scholarship through the HCC Office of College Advancement.
