5K “Turkey Trot” to be held at HCC

Hagerstown Community College’s athletic teams will host the 22nd annual “Turkey Trot” 5K run/walk/kids races and food/toy drive on Thanksgiving Day, November 24, on the HCC campus. Packet pick-up will start at 7 a.m., followed by the Mashed Potato Kids Race start at 8:30 a.m., and the 5K run/walk race start at 9 a.m.

Pre-registration for the 5K run/walk is $25 and race day registration is $30. Pre-registration for the Mashed Potato Kids Race, ages three to 10, is $10 and race day registration is $15. Proceeds from the race will benefit student athlete scholarships at HCC.

The Turkey Trot is a dog-friendly event and dogs may be registered for the race for $5. All dogs must be accompanied by a registered participant and be on a leash at all times.

All 5K run/walk finishers will be entered into a grand prize cash drawing. For every food/toy item donated to the food/toy drive, participants will be entered into a prize drawing of their choice.
