No Shave November Challenge
This year the HCC Police Department will be participating in the “No Shave November” challenge. The campus police department will deviate from the clean-shaven policy to allow the officers to grow beards. The police department will be using this challenge to raise awareness about food insecurities in our own campus community. Officers participating in the challenge will be making donations during the months of October, November, and December to raise money. All the proceeds from this challenge will be used to buy gift cards from a local grocery store. The HCC Police Department has partnered with HCC Student Services for this event. Student Services will make sure the gift cards get into the hands of students that are struggling to make ends meet. Hunger should not be an obstacle to any student working to get their degree.
HCC Police Department Receives Equipment
The Washington County Emergency Management used grant funds to purchase 5 Mobile Data Terminals (MDTs), 4 ballistic helmets and 1 ballistic shield for the HCC Police Department. The HCC police officers will use the MDT’s in their police cars to assist with responding to calls for service. HCC police officers will receive training on how to use the ballistic shield and helmets during an active assailant situation. Thank you to the Washington County Division of Emergency Management for your continued support and partnership.
