Veterinary Assistant Training Scholarship
Veterinary office career courses prepare students to work as a front desk assistant in a veterinary office, a veterinary assistant, a dog trainer, and/or a career at an animal rescue shelter.
Topics include:
- Medical Terminology & Introduction to Anatomy for Veterinary Assistants
- Veterinary Assistant Principles
- Veterinary Assistant Practices
Course Requirements:
- Students must pass all required exams
- Students must have an attendance of 70%
- A cumulative average of the mid-term and final exam must be a minimum of 70%
- Students must complete a total of 15 clinical practicum hours
- Students must receive a 65% or better on the mid-term for placement in clinicals
- Students must complete a minimum of 10 hours of observation at a Veterinary Clinic/hospital
- Students must present a final project/presentation
Applicants must complete the following:
- Complete the scholarship application
- Upload ALL required documentation
- Background Check
- Medical Release form

The Workforce Development Sequence Scholarship available through the Maryland Higher Education Commission (MHEC) is designed to provide all or partial financial assistance to students interested in registering for approved non-credit certification programs that lead to employment or licensure.
