Mini College for Kids classes are for children entering kindergarten or first grade in the fall. For children entering grades 2 - 10, please go to the College for Kids website to select classes.

Calling all Jr. Paleontologists: Join us for a fun week of games, projects and a planned field trip to see some dinosaurs! Kids will use books and computers to learn about the giant lizards that once roamed the earth and will search for bones, make their own fossils and other crafts. Register Online. | ||||
Week 2 | June 24 - 28 | Goin' on a Bear Hunt - Camping Adventure | MIN-017-B | $179 |
Camping Adventure- come explore nature and the great outdoors as we learn about all the things we need to go camping, Learn about the different wildlife we can see when we explore, bugs, squirrels, birds. Learn about different animal tracks, deer, and bears, but let’s hope we don’t run into any of them as we end our week with an outdoor camping excursion. Register Online. | ||||
Week 3 | July 8 - 12 | Every day (Super) Hero's | MIN-011-C | $179 |
Who do you consider a hero? Is it a Marvel comic hero that can save the world or is a hero someone you know? Is your hero a Policeman, Nurse, Doctor, or Firefighter? If you want to learn more about the super heroes in our community, then this is the camp for you. Explore careers in the helping professions by hearing from some that are going to stop in for a visit. Register Online. | ||||

Animal lovers will enjoy this week of activities designed to teach about the care of animals and where we get some of our food. Learn about agriculture, dairy cows and other animals through classroom activities and a trip to the farm. This week will include crafts, cooking and other fun activities. Register Online. | ||||
Week 5 | July 22 - 26 | Fiesta! | MIN-016-E | $179 |
Kids will get a taste of Spanish while learning about Latin American Cultures through crafts, music, games and food. A tentative field trip to a Mexican Restaurant is planned and the week will finish off with a Fiesta, complete with a piñata. Register Online. | ||||

If you like to draw, paint with watercolors, paint with tempera, or work with clay then this camp is for you. Children will explore various media, learn about some artists and creating all kinds of fabulous art. Field Trip to City Park in Hagerstown is planned. Register Online. | ||||
Week 7 | August 5 - 9 | Bugs Bugs Bugs! | MIN-012-G | $179 |
Learn about bugs in a whole new way as we look for insects on our campus, and at Catoctin Creek Nature Center. We will learn about life cycles, insect behavior, which bugs are beneficial to humans and which are pests. Butterflies, spiders, ants, bees, ladybugs and more will be explored! Register Online. |

General Information
Mini CFK classes are located in the Children’s Learning Center on the HCC campus. The CLC opens at 7:00 a.m. and closes at 6:00 p.m. Mini CFK classes begin at 9:00 a.m. and end at 4:00 p.m. Tuition includes the full day that we are open and meals are provided (breakfast at 8:30, lunch at 11:45 and afternoon snack at 3:00).
Please note: Tuition is due at the time of registration (arrangements may be made for payment for multiple weeks). Tuition will not be reduced or waived for partial attendance due to illness, family vacation or other reasons. Weekly rates include tuition, activity fee and registration. The application fee of $8 per class is non-refundable. Prepaid tuition and activity fees are refundable if cancellation notice is given at least 1 business day before class begins.
