CATE Early College Program

WCPS juniors and seniors attending Washington County Technical High School (WCTHS) will be able to participate in the Career and Technical Education (CATE) Early College Program at HCC. This provides additional pathways for high school students to earn early college credit by completing the certificated CATE Program in high school, then seamlessly transitioning to HCC for an associate degree or specialized certification in a Career and Technology Education area. CATE students take a combination of Advanced Placement (AP) classes, HCC ESSENCE Program courses, and courses at WCTHS that articulate to credits at HCC. Students who follow the CATE program pathway have the potential to earn up to 30 college credits. After graduating from high school, students can possibly complete their Associate degree at HCC in a year or less.

The degree programs include:

  • A.A.S. Network Administration
  • A.A.S. Cybersecurity
  • A.A.S. Advanced Manufacturing
  • A.S. Computer Science

To apply for the CATE Early College Program, please fill out the CATE Program Application and submit it to the HCC Admissions Office.
