This fall, Hagerstown Community College’s English and Humanities Division is offering a new photography course for advanced students who have experience beyond introductory level photography and digital imaging courses. Photography II (ART 215) will be offered on Thursdays, from 5:30 to 9:05 p.m., beginning Aug. 30. The course will run through Dec. 17.
Taught by HCC instructor and veteran photographer Benita Keller, this course will focus on portfolio development in the fine arts genres of portrait, landscape, and still life photography. According to Keller, students will build a portfolio of images and be guided through the online book producing program “blurb” to complete their own photography book. Students interested in this course should have already taken Photography I (ART 115) or have expanded technical knowledge working with a single lens reflex (SLR) camera or an advanced point-and-shoot. Some basic knowledge of photo editing software is also required as students will use Adobe Photoshop for editing images.
