The Alzheimer’s Association estimates that nearly 5 million Americans are living with Alzheimer’s disease, the most common form of dementia. Current treatment options focus on helping people maintain mental function, manage behavioral symptoms and slowing, delaying and preventing the onset of dementia. While there is no cure, treatment of symptoms coupled with services and support can make life better for this growing population. This seminar will discuss physical and behavioral symptomlogy of dementia, recent research and studies and provide information to help caregivers develop interventions aimed at providing the best quality of life for the person with dementia.
