A former Washington County Public Schools administrator has returned to Hagerstown Community College after having worked there from 1979 to 1988. Robert “Bo” Myers was recently named director of athletics and leisure studies at Hagerstown Community College.
“We are very pleased that Bo has returned to HCC,” said Guy Altieri, HCC president. “He brings to this leadership position a great deal of experience in both academic and athletic administration, including excellent fundraising skills.”
Myers was previously employed at Hagerstown Junior College from 1979 through 1988 as department chair of Health, Physical Education, and Leisure Studies. He helped make plans for HCC’s ARCC and Wellness Center and was a coach in track and field.
“I am excited to have the opportunity to work with a wonderful staff and honored to have the opportunity to return to the institution I love,” said Myers. “We expect to serve our students in a professional manner and provide ‘a national program with class.’”
He most recently served as executive director of Secondary School Administration in Washington County and has been principal at North Hagerstown High School, Western Heights Middle School, and Hancock Middle-Senior High School. He holds master's degrees in sports medicine from the U.S. Sports Academy and education from Pepperdine University.
