Hagerstown Community College’s Center for Continuing Education is offering a training program for registered nurse case managers and/or delegating nurses in assisted living on Fri., March 28 and Fri., April 4, from 8 a.m. to 5:15 p.m., in HCC’s Valley Mall Center.
All RN case managers and/or delegating nurses are required to take this MDBON training to work in assisted living facilities. In order to participate, nurses must have a current active Maryland RN license in good standing and also have an interest in or current employment in assisted living.
Topics include the history of assisted living programs, regulations governing CM/DN practice in assisted living, an overview of CM/DN roles and responsibilities, teaching medication administration in assisted living to medication technicians, and case management principles in assisted living.
The cost of this program is $275 and class size is limited to 25 students. Cost of class includes bound photocopy of handouts from MDBON that students will receive the first day of class, as well as a continental breakfast and afternoon snack.
Participants must bring their Maryland RN license number on the last day of class to submit for RN CM/DN listing to the Maryland Board of Nursing. Participants must also bring a copy of the most recent Maryland Nurse Practice Act.
