Hagerstown Community College will host “Arts and Sciences Day” on Sat., April 28, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. This free community open house will feature a science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) festival, with more than 50 exhibitors, who will have hands-on activities for elementary students through adults.
During the open house, guests will be able to tour the new STEM Building, as well as the renovated Kepler Theater and the new Performing and Visual Arts Education Center. A variety of music and dance performances will take place in the Kepler Center. A special dance concert will be held at 1 p.m. in the dance studio (room 101) and will feature various types of dances including ballet, Broadway dance, and middle eastern dance. In addition, HCC's Robinwood Players will perform their spring show, Camelot , in the Kepler Theater at 2:30 p.m. Camelot will be the first performance held in the renovated theater.
Through the STEM festival, HCC is a participating organization in the USA Science and Engineering Festival. HCC has partnered with local school districts, four-year colleges and universities, business organizations, community groups, and government agencies to present educational and entertaining activities for visitors of all ages.
This free event will include refreshments, giveaways, a moon bounce, and a scavenger hunt.
