Disability Awareness Zone

HCC's Student Government Association will hold a special event, Disability Awareness Zone, on Wed., March 28, from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., in the Student Center. This event features speakers, information tables and activities that bring awareness to mental, physical, and emotional disabilities. The Department of Rehabilitation Services (DORS), the ARC of Washington County, and the Special Olympics will have information tables set up at the event.

Schedule:

• 12 noon: HCC student Amanda England, who has a learning disability, will talk about the obstacles she faced and how she was able to excel in school
• 12:30 p.m.: Adele Connelly, of DORS, will talk about services offered through the department
• 2:30 p.m.: Zohreh Rezazaden will hold a meditation session
