Hagerstown Community College’s Center for Continuing Education is offering a six-week course geared towards helping students become a certified personal trainer on Saturdays, from Oct. 4 through Nov. 8, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., on HCC’s main campus.
The course includes hands-on practical training to aid students in working with clients on an individual basis and also provides a host of lectures on topics such as anatomy, health screening, exercise physiology, nutrition, and muscle and skeletal injuries. Students are required to pass a written 100-question exam on theoretical issues, a practical skills exam, and complete a 20-hour internship within six months of completing the course.
