Hagerstown Community College will hold a launch party for the most recent publication of its literary arts magazine, the Hedge Apple, on Tues., Oct. 18, beginning at 6 p.m., in the Student Center.
The reception will begin with prose, poetry, and fiction readings by recent Hedge Apple contributors. Keynote speaker will be writer Vanessa LaFaso Stolarski, who will speak on the topic of how to get published. Following the key note speech, workshops on fiction, poetry, and publishing will be offered. Light refreshments will also be served.
This event is free and is open to the public. Local writers and artists are encouraged to attend. Advance registration is not required. For more information, email Amanda Miller at email@example.com .
The Hedge Apple was founded in 1999 by Askold Skalsky, former professor of
English and foreign languages, now retired. The magazine is published once a year by the students and faculty of Hagerstown Community College and features poetry, short fiction, and artwork by HCC students, faculty, staff, and alumni.
