HCC to offer portraiture class this fall
Submitted by Leigh-Anne Mauk on Thu, 08/02/2012 - 8:45am
Hagerstown Community College will offer a portraiture class on Wednesday afternoons, from 1 to 4:35 p.m., beginning Aug. 29 and ending Dec. 12, in the Kepler Center.
Intended for students who have basic drawing skills, this course will provide students with a solid understanding of portraiture. Class exercises will focus on facial features and expressions, lighting, and the use of gestures and hands in portraiture. Students will begin the course by using charcoal, but will be allowed to use other materials of their choosing after the first two weeks of class.
For more information about the course, contact HCC instructor Janet Salter at jsalter@hagerstowncc.edu. To register, call 240-500-2238 or go to www.hagerstowncc.edu/registration/online.
