HCC to offer “Rock Star Academy” course

Hagerstown Community College’s College for Kids program is offering a course entitled “Rock Star Academy,” for students entering grades seven through 10. It will be held June 25 through 29, from 8:45 a.m. to 4 p.m. in HCC’s Kepler Center.
Students in this course will learn about guitar technique, ear training, rock music history, song writing, and stage presence. The course is taught by Tobias Hurwitz and Terry Gourley, who are professional musicians, composers, instructors, authors, and recording artists with music on iTunes and more than a million YouTube hits. Beginning, intermediate, and advanced players are welcome. Participants must bring their own instruments.
The cost for this course is $215, which includes the course, materials, and registration. A $10 discount per class is offered for those who register by May 25. To register or learn more, visit www.hagerstowncc.edu/kids or call 240-500-2236.
