Free Music Discussion held April 9

Hagerstown Community College recently announced that jazz and soul musician Alison Crockett will hold a free music discussion for students and the public on Mon., April 9, at 5 p.m., in the Kepler Center. Crockett will speak about the political, social, and economic views impacting music today. 

Crockett, an accomplished pianist and vocalist, began her professional music career after earning her master’s degree from the Manhattan School of Music in 1996. She performed with a number of well-known recording artists, including King Britt, Blue Six, John Wicks, Us3, Sylk 130, and Landslide, before beginning her solo career in 2003. Her debut solo album, “On Becoming a Woman,” was released in 2004. In addition to performing, Crockett teaches jazz vocal ensemble at George Washington University, and also offers private music lessons to elementary and middle school children.
