About the Program:
This full-day course will provide updated information on Trauma situations, Transport, Radiology and Pediatric Trauma Drowning. The topics will be beneficial to Nurses, Nurse Practitioners and EMS. Six CEUs will be provided to those who attend 100% of the program.
About the Speakers:
Michael R. Christy, MD
Dr. Christy is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, and Director of Microsurgery at the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center. In addition to managing acute complex facial traumatic injuries, he is also involved in secondary reconstructions of facial deformities. His special interest in reconstructing external ear deformities has led Dr. Christy to participate in medical missions to Ecuador to surgically repair or create ears for children and adults with congenital or traumatic ear deformities.
Dr. Christy received his Medical Degree from the Boston University School of Medicine. He completed both general surgery and plastic surgery residencies at the Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York City and fellowships in hand surgery and microsurgery in Los Angeles at the University of Southern California Keck School of Medicine and hand surgery at the Southern California Orthopaedic Institute.
Fred M. Moeslein, MD
Dr. Moeslein is an Assistant Professor at University of Maryland School of Medicine; Primary Appointment: Diagnostic Radiology and Nuclear Medicine. He is a graduate of Case Western Reserve University (Cleveland, Ohio) with a MD/PhD in 2001. In 2006, he did his residency at the Cleveland Clinic and was in Diagnostic Radiology and his fellowship in Interventional Radiology at the University of Maryland in 2006 and 2007. He then became Assistant Professor of Radiology at the University of Pittsburg in 2007-2008 and rejoined the Department of Radiology at the University of Maryland in July 2008.
Allen R. Walker, MD, MBA
Dr. Walker is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and an Active Staff Member of the Department of Pediatrics at Johns Hopkins Children's Center at John Hopkins Hospital. He has specialized in Pediatric Trauma with burns and drowning. He has written articles in the Pediatric Emergency Care Journal with other publications and presentations.
Lieutenant Walter A. Kerr, MS
Lt. Kerr, Nationally REMT-P, Certified Medical Transport Executive, Flight Paramedic-Certified has 23 years of experience with the MDSP Aviation Command and currently serves as the Helicopter Operations and Quality Assurance Commander. Lt. Kerr has been a CAMTS (Commission on the Accreditations of Medical Transport Systems) site surveyor for the past 12 years. Lt. Kerr is an active volunteer FF/Paramedic serving for the past 33 years with the Harford County Volunteer Fire and EMS Association.
Bruce Klein, MD
Dr. Klein graduated from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine in 1979. After completing a Pediatrics Residency at Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital, he remained on staff, eventually becoming Director of Pediatric Emergency Services. In 1986, he moved to Children's National Medical Center in Washington, D.C., where he is an Attending in the ED as well as the former Chief of the Division of Transport Medicine. He is excited to announce that this September he will be joining Johns Hopkins Hospital as Associate Chief in the Division of Pediatric Emergency Medicine.
