New scholarship available to HCC students

Through Hagerstown Community College’s affiliation with the Maryland Space Grant Consortium, HCC students are eligible to compete for the 2011-2012 Maryland Space Grant Consortium scholarship.

To be eligible, applicants must meet the following requirements:

• Must be a U.S. Citizen
• Must be a Maryland resident or a graduate of a Maryland high school
• Must be enrolled at HCC or another Maryland Consortium affiliated institution
• Must be a full-time student majoring in (but not limited to) the biological and life sciences, chemistry, the geological sciences, physics and astronomy, engineering, and computer science
• Must participate in community service

Award amounts will vary but must be used for educational expenses such as tuition, books, fees, and room and board. Awards are for one year but are renewable on a competitive basis upon maintaining a 3.0 GPA.
