HCC offers animal care workshops for pet owners

Hagerstown Community College’s Continuing Education and Community Services Division is offering two workshops geared towards pet owners.
The first course, “Pet CPR, Nutrition and First Aid,” will instruct pet owners on how to respond in emergency situations. Students will learn about pet nutrition, diet, and health, and will learn also basic pet CPR through the use of two CPR dogs. The one-day workshop will be held on Sat., Nov. 6, from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., at HCC’s Valley Mall Center. Cost is $94.
The second course, “Introduction to Pet Massage for the Pet Owner,” will provide pet owners with a step-by-step approach to massaging their dog or cat. Students will learn about the holistic philosophy of animal well-being, as well as basic pet anatomy, animal psychology, and more. The one-day workshop will be held on Sat., Nov. 13, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Washington County Humane Society. Cost is $64.
