HCC offers dance classes for all ages

Hagerstown Community College’s Center for Continuing Education is offering a variety of dance classes this fall for people of all ages and skill levels.
 
“Find Pleasure in Social Ballroom – Beginning,” is a course designed for first-time students who are interested in learning the basic dance figures of the most popular rhythms, such as the Cha Cha, Swing, the Foxtrot, the Waltz, and the Rumba. Offered on Tuesdays, from Sept. 14 through Nov. 30, this course meets from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Western Maryland Hospital Center.
 
“Find Pleasure in Social Ballroom – Intermediate,” is offered on Tuesdays, from Sept. 14 through Nov. 30, this course meets from 8:15 to 9:30 p.m. at the Western Maryland Hospital Center. Both levels of these courses are taught by HCC instructors Betty and Irv Easterday, who have been teaching ballroom dancing for more than 35 years.
 
The Easterdays also teach “Dancing Like Stars,” which is offered for intermediate-level dancers on Wednesdays, Sept. 15 through Dec. 8, from 7 to 9:30 p.m., at the Western Maryland Hospital Center.
 
Carroll and Jean Goodnight will teach “Ballroom Dancing – Beginning” on Thursdays, Sept. 9 through Dec. 9, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. They will also offer “Ballroom Dancing – Intermediate” on Thursdays, Sept. 9 through Dec. 9, from 7:30 to 9 p.m. at the same location.
