Biotech Open House set for Feb. 1

Hagerstown Community College’s math and science division will a host a Biotechnology Open House on Mon., Feb. 1, beginning at 7 p.m., in HCC’s Career Programs Building, room 214. Participants will have an opportunity to tour the biotechnology labs, learn about the summer biotech institute and discover internship and job opportunities available to students in the biotechnology program.
HCC’s biotechnology program began in 2007. The College held its first summer institute for high school students in 2009 and will hold the 2010 Biotechnology Summer Institute from June 14 through Aug. 9. Participating high schools students can receive seven college credits. Tuition and fees are free for qualified ESSENCE students. Application deadline is March 19, 2010.
