This 6-hour course will examine various systemic diseases and medications that have a direct impact on oral health and the periodontal/systemic disease link.
Good oral health is not just the product of good oral hygiene. This 6-hour course will examine various systemic diseases and medications that have a direct impact on oral health and the periodontal/systemic disease link. Other influences such as patient populations and lifestyles will also be discussed. This is an excellent program for both dentists and staff and will present a team approach to the diagnosis and treatment of oral diseases that occur in conjunction with systemic disease.

- Pathogenicity of plaque and inflammation
- Role of the host
- Bacteremias
- Infective endocarditis and premedication issues
- Cardiovascular disease and atherosclerosis

Dianne Glasscoe Watterson, RDH, BS, MBA is a professional speaker, writer and consultant to dental practices across the United States. She is CEO of Professional Dental Management, a full-service dental consulting company in Frederick, Maryland. She is a featured columnist for RDH and Dental Economics magazines on a variety of topics focused on practice management issues in the dental office. Dianne completed an associate degree in Dental Hygiene from Guilford Technical Community College in North Carolina and a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Service Management from the Indiana Institute of Technology and an MBA from Ashford University School of Business.
