English Round Hand course offered
Submitted by Leigh-Anne Mauk on Mon, 10/19/2009 - 12:12pm
This fall, Hagerstown Community College’s Center for Continuing Education is offering a course on English Round Hand, on Mondays, from Nov. 2 through Nov. 23, in the Career Programs Building on HCC’s main campus.
English Round Hand, also known as Copperplate, is an elegant form of writing that developed during the 18th century and was used extensively for invitations and formal events. Course topics include the use of the flexible pointed nib and the basic minuscule and majuscule letter forms that were most commonly used. A materials kit with all the English Round Hand supplies may be purchased during the first class session from the instructor for a $20 fee. Course cost is $70.
For more information or to register, call 301-790-2800, ext. 236.
