Hagerstown Community College’s Center for Continuing Education is offering a course entitled, “Builders and Heretics,” on Fridays, from Nov. 6 through Nov. 20, at HCC’s Valley Mall Center.
Taught by historian and author Roger Swartz, the course will primarily focus on the life of John Winthrop, a principal founder of the Puritan Massachusetts Bay colony in 1630. The course will also focus on suspected Puritan heretics such as Roger Williams, Anne Hutchinson, and the witches of Salem. Cost is $60. For more information or to register, call 301-790-2800, ext. 236.
