AMA supervisor course offered at HCC

Hagerstown Community College’s Center for Continuing Education, Business and Professional Development is offering a course entitled “First Line Supervision,” which is focused on providing participants with the skills and techniques needed to become effective supervisors and attain positive results with their employees.
Offered in cooperation with the American Management Association, participants will learn how to identify the roles, competencies, and qualities of effective supervisors, build personal credibility and garner commitment from others, build a positive work environment, motivate employees, and deliver positive and instructional feedback.
Taught by HCC instructor Jim Cannon, this course will meet on Thursdays, September 17, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and September 24, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., at HCC’s Valley Mall Center. Cannon is a certified trainer and has taught a variety of management courses throughout the tri-state area. Fee is $189.
