College for Kids offers engineering program for girls

Hagerstown Community College’s College for Kids program is offering a course specifically geared toward girls entering grades six through eight who are interested in science, technology, engineering, and math.
The course entitled, “Girls Exploring Engineering,” will be offered August 3 through 7 from 8:45 a.m. to 4 p.m. at HCC. It will include hands-on activities that involve designing, building, and testing. There will also be a field trip to see engineers at work. The instructor is Shana Gustafson, a Project Lead the Way teacher at Williamsport High School.
