Submitted by Leigh-Anne Mauk on Sat, 11/15/2008 - 1:00am
Hagerstown Community College will host the Mason-Dixon Barbershop Chorus on Saturday, Nov. 15, at 7 p.m., in HCC’s Kepler Theater.
The Mason-Dixon Barbershop Chorus has been in the Hagerstown area for the last 58 years and currently consists of more than 25 male singers who perform acappella-style singing in a four-part barbershop harmony. The Barbershop Chorus will perform a show entitled, “Grandpa’s Attic,” and will feature the Freedom Valley Chorus and their quartet, an all-female barbershop chorus from Chambersburg, Pa., as well as several other men’s quartets.
This event is open to the public. Tickets are $12 for adults; $10 for students, ages 13 to 18; $10 for seniors, age 60 and older; $8 for children, ages three to eight; and free for children two and under. Tickets may be purchased at the door. For more information, contact Tracey Cline, the vice-president of music and performance, at 240-217-0417.
