Travel-oriented German course offered at HCC
Submitted by Leigh-Anne Mauk on Mon, 09/22/2008 - 12:00am
Hagerstown Community College’s Center for Continuing Education is offering a short-length course in beginning and elementary German specially geared towards those students interesting in traveling to Germany, Austria, or Switzerland.
Taught by HCC instructor Jeff Driscoll, students will be introduced to the fundamentals of German language and will develop the necessary pronunciation skills and learn the essential vocabulary and patterns of dialogue needed for real-life situations that are often encountered when traveling to a foreign country. Examples include the words and phrases needed for shopping excursions, dining, general travel, as well as cultural tips.
The course is offered on Wednesdays, from Oct. 22 through Nov. 12, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., in HCC’s Valley Mall Center. For more information or to register, call 301-790-2800, ext. 236.
