Submitted by Leigh-Anne Mauk on Mon, 06/16/2008 - 12:00am
Hagerstown Community College’s College for Kids summer enrichment program is offering a new class entitled, “Ahoy Matties! It’s A Pirate’s Life for Me!” for children entering grades two and three in the fall of 2008.
Children will learn about the adventures and lives of historical pirates and will also build a model pirate ship and learn about sea navigation, as well as create a compass and design a “Jolly Roger” flag. The class is offered daily from July 7 through July 11, from 8:45 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., on HCC’s main campus. The course will be team-taught by College for Kids instructors Jeanette Wagner and Stacy Kauffman. Cost is $144.
To learn more or to register, call 301-790-2800, ext. 236 or go to www.hagerstowncc.edu/kids.
