HCC’s College for Kids offers audio digital classes for middle and high school students

Hagerstown Community College’s College for Kids summer enrichment program is offering two new classes specially geared towards middle and high school students entering grades eight through ten that are interested in designing three-dimensional computer games and creating/editing digital audio.
     
The first class offered is “3D Masters—Design Your Own Dungeon,” from August 4 through August 8. Students will learn how to create and design their own computer games, and will study how to build three-dimensional worlds using all aspects of game design including levels, textures, modeling, animation, skinning, programming, and sound effects. Cost is $164 and class is limited to 12 students.
     
The second class offered is “Audio Masters—Sound Effects and Music Editing,” from July 21 through July 25. Students will learn the basics of digital audio editing and will explore tools for capturing sound, mixing music, crafting sound effects, and embellishing dialog. Students will also create an “original” motion picture soundtrack. Cost is $164 and class is limited to 12 students.
