HCC to offer course in estimating for builders and contractors

Hagerstown Community College will offer an introductory course in light construction estimating for building and remodeling contractors. The course will be held on Mondays and Wednesdays, from 6 to 9 p.m., from March 3 through April 16 on the campus of HCC.
     
The course is taught by trades instructor Ray Harbaugh, who teaches manual and computer methods of estimating with a focus on customizing the process to the student’s particular trade/business requirements. Practical exercises will be provided with hands-on estimating, that reinforce each step of the estimating process. Print reading and basic computer skills are suggested, but are not required.
