“A Funny Thing Happened on the way to the Forum” to be performed at HCC
Submitted by Leigh-Anne Mauk on Tue, 07/18/2006 - 12:00am
The Robinwood Players summer theater workshop students at Hagerstown Community College will perform Stephen Sondheim’s Tony-Award winning musical comedy “A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum” on Friday, August 4, and Saturday, August 5, at 8 p.m. in HCC’s Kepler Theater.
The musical, taken from the book by Burt Shevelove and Larry Gelbart, combines the plots from Roman Playwright, Plautus’ comedies “Miles Gloriosus” and “Pseudolus”. Don’t miss the fun and excitement as Roman slave, Pseudolus, stops at nothing to gain his freedom, two young lovers try to unite despite a huge “obstacle,” and one befuddled old man searches for his lost children.
Tickets are $7 and are available in advance at the HCC Bookstore or at the door the evening of the event. For information, call 301-790-2800, ext. 271.
