Submitted by Leigh-Anne Mauk on Tue, 04/11/2006 - 11:00pm
In celebration of National Nurses Week, a seminar entitled, “Leading the Day! Lessons in Leadership,” will be offered on Thursday, May 4 at Robinwood Medical Center, from 8 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. It is sponsored by The Center for Continuing Education at Hagerstown Community College, Washington County Hospital and the Nursing and Allied Health Advisory Committee.
The seminar is recommended for nurses who serve as managers or charge nurses, social workers, nursing home administrators, radiographers and others who provide oversight within the healthcare profession. Participants will learn how to embrace change, develop leadership skills, and encourage others to feel empowered and be accountable. The presentation includes lecture, humor, group discussion and video clips.
Professional continuing education units will be provided. The fee, which includes meals and hand-outs, is $99 per person, or $89 each for three or more. The deadline to register for the discounted rate is April 15.
